Laiki Terms of Service

Last updated: August 12, 2026

By using Laiki, you agree to these terms. Please also read our Privacy Policy.

1. Service

Laiki helps groups coordinate meetups by creating events and rooms, inviting responses, sharing live locations during an activity, sending voice updates while holding a button, and setting meetup points. Some features have quantity or duration limits based on the host's plan.

2. Safety limitations

Laiki is not an emergency response system. Location sharing, SOS, meetup notices, and alerts depend on your device, battery, and network. If any of them fail, these features may be unavailable. In a real emergency, contact local emergency services directly (Taiwan: 110/119).

Do not operate a device while driving or riding. Review maps, controls, and messages before departure, through a passenger, or only after stopping safely, and follow local traffic laws.

Offline maps only keep the base map available; they do not make location sharing work without a network connection.

3. Your responsibilities

Only share your location when you consent to room members and invitation-link viewers seeing it. Do not track, monitor, or harass anyone without consent; impersonate another person when creating or responding to an event; or submit unlawful content. You are responsible for event titles, descriptions, and meetup points you create.

Do not post, transmit, or use Laiki for illegal content, violent threats, hate or bullying, sexual exploitation (especially any child sexual abuse or exploitation material), scams, spam, intellectual-property infringement, or conduct that endangers another person's safety or privacy. Report concerns through in-app support or safety@laiki.app. We may restrict features, remove content, suspend accounts, and retain or disclose necessary records as required by law.

4. Accounts

Signing in is optional and basic features remain available without an account. You may delete your account in the app at any time; see Delete your account. We may suspend an account for a serious violation of these terms.

5. Map data and use restrictions

Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors under the open-data license ODbL. Laiki provides the maps needed by its app and official website.

Maps provided by Laiki are only for normal use in the app and official website. You may not use automated tools to download, copy, store, resell, or redistribute them in bulk; use Laiki as the map source for another app, website, or service; bypass usage limits; or redistribute offline map packages. Offline downloads are for your personal use within Laiki.

If we detect misuse, we may limit access, block its source, suspend an account, or seek reimbursement of the resulting data-transfer costs. These rules cover the maps provided by Laiki, not the open data itself. You may obtain ODbL data from OpenStreetMap or Protomaps and provide your own maps.

6. Paid plans and automatic renewal

Plus, Pro, and Max may be offered as monthly or annual subscriptions. The checkout screen in the App Store or Google Play controls the actual price, currency, and billing period, and the store charges your store account.

If the store offers you a free trial or another introductory offer, checkout shows your eligibility, the offer period, and the price and billing period that follow. Unless you cancel before the renewal time shown by the store, the subscription automatically renews at that displayed price when the offer ends.

Subscriptions automatically renew until you cancel through the App Store or Google Play. Cancellation stops the next renewal. Unless the store issues a refund or revocation or states otherwise, paid access remains available through the current period. Refund and cancellation eligibility follow the purchasing store's policy.

Event Room and Extended Room are one-time room passes, not subscriptions, and do not renew automatically. An Event Room pass creates one room for up to 30 people and 48 hours; an Extended Room pass creates one room for up to 8 people and 7 days. Completing the purchase only adds one pass to your signed-in account and does not create a room immediately. The room is created only after you review its details and choose to use the pass. Passes are bound to the Laiki account signed in at purchase, cannot be transferred, and currently do not expire while that account exists. Each pass can be used once and is redeemed only when a room is successfully created. An unused pass that the store refunds or revokes can no longer be used.

If a store changes a renewal price, it will provide advance notice under its rules and obtain consent when required by law or store policy. You can manage or cancel the subscription in the store before the new price takes effect.

Deleting your Laiki account does not cancel a store subscription. You can manage or cancel it in the store before or after account deletion.

7. Availability

Laiki needs your device, network, and other services to work properly. Maintenance, faults, or outside changes may cause temporary interruptions. Rooms, events, and saved personal trips are kept only for the periods stated by the applicable plan and Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

We update the date on this page when these terms change and will provide in-app notice of material changes.

9. Governing law and language

These terms and the legal relationship concerning Laiki are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without excluding mandatory consumer protections where you live. If translations differ or are ambiguous, the Traditional Chinese version prevails.

10. Contact

General questions: support@laiki.app; safety, harassment, or abuse reports: safety@laiki.app. You can also use Support.
