One temporary room for the trip

Less time asking, “Where are you?”

Open a temporary room and share the link. Keep locations, meeting points, planned routes, and voice updates together on one map.

Laiki for iPhone is on the App Store, free to download. Laiki for Android is still in Google Play testing — join the test to try it early.

Open a room. Share the link. Go.

No friend requests and no new group chat to manage.

Set up the room

Choose how long it stays open and how precisely your location appears.

Share the invite

Post the link or scannable join code in any group chat.

Head out together

Meet on one map. The room closes when its time is up.

Friends can view the room map on the website. When the organizer allows website responses, they can respond there too. They need the app to share their own location or use voice.

See the group, not just a dot

See each companion's location, direction, and battery level alongside meeting points, stops, and planned routes.

Hold to talk

Share meetup and trip updates by voice with everyone in the room.

Planned routes

Draw what comes next so companions can see each other's plan.

Do not operate a device while driving or riding. Ask a passenger or stop somewhere safe first.

Share for this trip, on your terms

Choose precise, neighborhood, or city-level sharing. Use Ghost mode to disappear temporarily; sharing stops when you leave or the room ends.

How Laiki handles location data
  • Live location is not stored with your account, events, or trip history. Laiki keeps only the latest location needed for the room map, and clears it when you use Ghost mode, leave, disconnect, or the room ends.
  • Every room has an end time. Three days on the free plan, fourteen at most. You don't have to remember to turn anything off.
  • You choose whether to keep a trip record. If you leave it off, no trip record is created. If you turn it on, it saves only your track, not your companions' locations.
  • Ghost mode removes you from the map. It stops sharing and clears the last location shown in the room along with the route you drew.

Plan first, then head out together

Keep the time, meeting point, and attendance responses on one event page. When the organizer allows website responses, friends can view and reply without the app before the live room opens.

Max also includes on-site check-in and an organizer view for checking the attendance list.

Keep your own trail after the trip

Choose to save your trip track, revisit the route and timing, then turn it into a shareable recap. Your companions' locations are not saved with it.

How long saved trips are kept depends on the plan.

Questions before the first room

What can someone do without the app?

They can view the room map on the website. When the organizer allows website responses, they can respond there too. They need the app to share their own location or use voice.

Does it keep sharing when my screen is off?

Laiki shares your location only while you are in a room and sharing is on. It stops when you leave or the room expires. Use Ghost mode to hide from the map without leaving.

What can I do on the Free plan?

Free includes rooms, live location, voice, meeting points, landmarks, and planned routes. Paid plans allow more people, more rooms open at once, longer room durations, and saved trip history.

Why do rooms expire?

Because Laiki is for one trip at a time. When the room expires, location sharing for that trip stops too.

For the next trip, open one room

Invite one companion and put the meetup, locations, and route back on the same map.
